Archos 50 Diamond

The France-based device manufacturer, Archos, has announced a rather powerful device, the Archos 50 Diamond. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor with 64-bit capability. At last, Archos has a device that it can be proud of. The 50 Diamond comes with 5-inch 1080p display with IPS panel, as well as 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 16Mp rear-facing camera, 8Mp front-facing camera, dual-SIM support and 4G LTE connectivity.

It includes 2700mAh battery within a 142 grams device that measures 8mm thick. The Adreno 405 GPU is enough to handle high-end games in Google Play store. Wireless connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, WiFi, 4G LTE Cat.4 and HSPA+. There are also dual-SIM slots under the back cover.

Availability should start from early 2015 and despite its name or hardware specs, the Diamond is a rather affordable. It will be available for about $200. It is said that the phone will arrive with Android 4.4 KitKat, but there is still a possibility that it will run the newer Android 5.0, instead. At the moment, only Google’s latest mobile software version can fully support the 64-bit capability of new processors.
