HTC One M9 Shows Overheating Message When Running AnTuTu App

HTC One M9People became somewhat panicked when we heard reports about the overheating issues of Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC. It is believed that Samsung decides choose the homegrown Exynos 7420 because of this problem. However, we heard later that Qualcomm finally overcome the overheating problem and a few device makers, including LG, HTC and Xiaomi continue to confirm the use of the processor in their latest devices. HTC has recently introduced the One M9 and the LG G Flex 2 with its Snapdragon 810 is considered among the coolest running models in the market right now.

However, concerns have started to emerge when the HTC One M9 runs the AnTuTu benchmarking app. Its predecessor, the HTC One M8 reached about 42,000 points, so it is expected that the One M9 will surpass it. Unfortunately, a message pops up saying that the device temperature is too high.

AnTuTu advises users to cool their device, because continuing the test could cause the phone to shut down or restart. This could be an isolated case, because similar problem isn’t discovered with the LG G Flex 2. However, this fact does rekindle the concern that the processor is a bit too hot.
