HTC Releases Updated Camera App for Windows-based One (M8)

HTC One M8Windows Phone Store is obviously not the biggest marketplace in the mobile market, but there are surely some unique things not found in Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Nestled on its shelf is an app called the HTC Camera App and it is designed primarily for users who own the Windows-based HTC One (M8).

The app has been upgraded to version 2.0 and it brings a variety of new features. The Pan 360 feature is a replacement for the Panorama mode that’s included with the One (M8) out of the box. The Pan 360 allows us to take horizontal and vertical panoramic shots. But it is quite unfortunate that the newly updated app doesn’t have a changelist, so we don’t know about all the more subtle features.

Swap Camera is a possible new feature and it should allow users to quickly swap between the rear-facing and front-facing cameras by swiping across the display. The app is available for free in Windows Phone Store and because it is a new major release, subsequent incremental updates could be rolled out regularly. So, users who have installed the HTC Camera should keep an eye peeled for them.
