Near-Surround Sound Quality is Available for Samsung Galaxy Note Edge Users

Samsung Galaxy Note Edge

The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge and its sibling, the Note 4 comes with rear-facing speakers, which could occasionally result in muffled sound quality when playing multimedia content. A hardware expert has come up with a solution to this problem by activating the rear speaker and the earpiece at the same time.

Apparently, this mod could provide users with the near-surround sound. It has been proven to work on the Galaxy Note Edge for Sprint and T-Mobile, but could also work for other variants of Galaxy Note Edge. Users can download the .zip packaged that they can flash into their devices. Three packages are used for multiple volume levels; high, medium and default; while the other package is to revert to the default, original settings.

Instructions are available from the XDA forum and users can always restore their phone if they don’t like how the mod works. In order for the phone to work, the Galaxy Note Edge should be rooted. Users with no experience in rooting, modding and flashing shouldn’t try to do this. It is unclear whether the mod will be extended to the Galaxy Note 4 which has the same speaker positioning issue.
