Samsung Reveals Design of Galaxy Alpha

Samsung Galaxy Alpha

Samsung’s first metal-clad Galaxy model has finally gone official after months of endless speculations, rumors and leaks. The Galaxy Alpha is probably the slimmest Galaxy smartphone so far with its gorgeous metal frame and 4.7-inch display size. Apart from its metal-based material, the phone looks much like large Galaxy S5 in terms of styling, button positioning and overall design. The rear cover has denser pattern and slightly different shape. Unfortunately, the Alpha is not resistant against water exposure and like S5, it also comes with a fingerprint scanner.

The Samsung Galaxy Alpha is equipped with 4.7-inch 720p display, octa core Exynos 5430 processor (four energy-efficient cores at 1.3GHz and four full-speed cores at 1.8GHz), Android 4.4.4, 2.1 Mp front-facing camera, 12Mp rear-facing camera, 2GB of RAM, 4G LTE support, 32GB of internal storage and 1860mAh battery. The phone is 6.7mm thick and unfortunately, it doesn’t have built-in microSD card slot.

It’s clear that the Galaxy Alpha is aimed to compete with the Apple iPhone 6 with its 4.7-inch display. Based on its screen resolution, the phone will 316ppi of pixel density, which nearly matches Apple’s Retina Display standard. It’s also interesting to note that like the iPhone 5S, the Alpha lacks microSD card slot and comes with nano SIM card slot.
