Touchless Control Feature Will be Available for Nexus Smartphone Models

Nexus SmartphonesGoogle will soon roll out a significant new feature for its Nexus smartphone models. The capability should be quite similar to the Touchless Control feature in the Motorola Moto X. We could say multiple phrases to the phone to acquire expected responses. As such, it is not yet known when the hands-free capability will make its way to Google’s endorsed smartphone model.

To be specific, the Nexus 5 and Nexus will get the “Always On” voice recognition feature that allows us to speak with our smartphone models, simply by saying “Ok, Google”. Ambient Display is also another feature of Motorola Moto X that will also available for numerous Nexus smartphone models. This feature will light up the display when we pick up the Nexus smartphone. The display will also light up automatically when notifications come in.

As Google has recently started rolling out the new Lollipop update, we should soon know whether similar capabilities will be available to non-Nexus models, although this seems rather unlikely. The Lollipop update has been released through OTA for the Motorola Moto X (2014), a low-end model with reasonable hardware specs. Overall, Google is trying to provide more improved voice assistant capability as a way to compete with Apple’s Siri.
