Huawei Sells the Ascend GX1 in China

Huawei Ascend GX1The Ascend GX1 is Huawei’s new smartphone model and it is an extra large Android device. Consumers in China can purchase the phablet for only 1590 CNY or approximately $255. We could assume that Huawei will sell the GX1 in other areas as well. The phone should offer quite a lot for the amount of money. It sports a 6-inch 720p display and IPS panel. The screen-to-body ratio is approximately 80.5 percent and it should resemble the Ascend Mate7.

The GX1 is powered with 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor and Android 4.4 KitKat. There are also 2Mp front-facing camera, 8Mp rear-facing camera, LED flash, dual-SIM slots, NFC and 4G LTE support. Additionally, the phone is equipped with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. It comes with a sizable 3500mAh battery and measures 9.2mm.

Huawei is selling the phone through its own online retail outlet and there’s only a white variant of the device. As we can see, the Huawei Ascend GX1 has a rather decent offering considering the relatively low price tag. It should be a quite strong contender in the mid-range niche.
