Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge May Have Glass Panels and Metal Frame

Samsung Galaxy S6Samsung fans have been yearning for a flagship Galaxy model with all-metal design. However, they may be up for a disappointment as the upcoming Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge won’t have full metal unibody chassis. Instead, these devices will incorporate the metal frame with glass panels on the front and back. This also means that the battery will be non-removable.

Today, the true definition of premium smartphone is the one with full-metal chassis; even so, it is still possible to make stunning models with glass construction and metal frame. It means, aesthetic perfectionists could just relax, because Samsung is already heading in the right direction.

There’s actually a possible explanation of why Samsung will only produce a “half-metal” Galaxy S6 and the company simply wants to differentiate its popular flagship series with the metal-clad Galaxy A series. By using full metal design on both series, it is possible for the mid-range Galaxy A models to eat into the flagship’s market share. Either way, Samsung could start providing us with early information on the Galaxy S6 and its Edge version at the MWC event in early March. It is necessary because Sony and HTC are breathing down Samsung’s neck with their impressive models.
