Samsung Introduces the Low-End Galaxy J1

Samsung Galaxy J1Samsung has introduced the Galaxy A last year and it already starts 2015 with a couple of E series smartphone models. We have heard about the J series smartphones and its first model has been announced. It will be commercially known as the Samsung Galaxy J1 with SM-J100H model number. The phone is initially shown in Samsung Malaysia website and this could indicate an early availability in South East Asia region.

We previously heard that the phone will be a low-entry model, possible with Marvell quad-core 64-bit processor. However, the official specs sheet seems to indicate otherwise and it will be powered with an unknown 1.2GHz dual-core processor.

As an entry-level device, the phone is equipped with 4.3-inch WVGA display and dual-SIM capabilities. The Android 4.4 KitKat OS onboard is well-optimized for less capable devices. There are also a 2Mp camera on the front and a 5Mp camera on the back with LED flash. The front snapper is supported with the Palm Selfie feature that allows users to take decent selfies easily with hand gestures. There are also 4GB of onboard storage, 512MB of RAM, 1850mAh removable battery and microSD card slot. The phone provides decent battery life with 10 hours of talk time.
