Successor of Xiaomi Redmi 1S Will be Launched Soon

Xiaomi RedmiRecently, we heard rumors that Huawei will introduce an improved version of Xiaomi Redmi 1S soon. It is actually the successor of the phone, complete with Dual LTE capability. The new network connectivity should allow the phone to get connected with the 4G LTE networks of China Telecom and China Unicom. Although the new Redmi 1S has the same 4.7-inch 720p display, it is actually thinner and lighter. Inside there’s the more improved 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with 64-bit support.

There are also 1GB of RAM for modest multitasking performance and 8GB of storage to keep some apps, because Xiaomi models can’t typically store apps in microSD card by default. A 2Mp front-facing snapper adorns the space above the display and there’s also an 8Mp camera that graces the rear part of the phone. The Android OS is coated with the company’s proprietary MIUI skin and the 2200mAh battery should provide adequate runtime.

A previous leaked image showed the alleged successor of the Redmi 1S and it sports the similar design of its predecessor. The front part of the phone should be nearly identical to the original, except some changes on the capacitive buttons. The phone could be called the Redmi 2S and it will be taller than the original.
